A national idea- and methods conference about what to do when the largest company in town closes its doors or when slowly but surely one job after another disappears.
Three years have passed since the biggest company bankruptcy in modern Swedish history. The effects of the Saab Automobile’s downfall was compared with what happened after Astra Zeneca had given up its research in Södertälje and the discontinuation of Continental’s tire production in Gislaved. In addition, similarities and differences between Borlänge, Bengtsfors and Vara were studied. These towns are back on track after many jobs had been lost in their respective towns.
The conference provided practical examples from real life, committed debaters and inspiring lecturers. It also opened for exciting meetings and discussions, conveying ideas, methods and new know-how during two half days.
The goal of the conference was to equip the participants for the future and hopefully, they left with new insights and valuable networks of contacts.
